Every retreat held at Fintry is governed by a mild rule of life, which is the fuller recognition of the obedience due to a unitive idea.
The element of self-discipline involved in a retreat promotes order and harmony, which in turn gives rise to a real inner peace. Retreat restores the soul and provides a pattern of life that can be followed at all times.
Companionship with those whose deepest interests are similar to one’s own is also valuable, and may enable participants to receive a clearer perspective of life and to develop a fuller capacity for the service of the Ideal.
Each day includes the celebration of short contemplative rites and philosophical discussion. The timetable allows for solitude as well as for companionship, for recreation as well as for light work and study.
Unless otherwise stated, all events are held at the Fintry Retreat House. (Directions.)
